Amazon's growth in the Phoenix metro area spanned three internal business lines with 11 buildings opening in seven cities by the end of 2020 plus two more in 2021. Partnering with Amazon's Economic Development and Public Policy teams, I led a campaign to create one milestone moment to announce the launch of all buildings at once. To kick off the announcement, I organized a construction ‘first look’ event for local broadcast media at Amazon's new robotics fulfillment center.

The result was widespread coverage that positioned Amazon as a creator of 3,000+ jobs in a community hit by unemployment during the COVID-19 pandemic. To date, the news has generated 120+ media and social clips.

In addition to media coaching Amazon's Operations spokesperson for a day of interviews, I wrote all content, including the key messages, press release, and three separate fact sheets as well as directed creative strategy on an infographic to support the announcement.

In 2012, a new minimally invasive procedure at Banner Boswell Medical Center was showing promising results for people diagnosed with liver cancer. This press release describes how tiny spheres of radiation could have a big impact on local cancer patients. The story resulted in local print and TV coverage.

Tiny Spheres of Hope

As the editor of CV Quarterly, I developed and wrote all content, cultivated images, designed the publication and organized printing/mailing to the medical staff serving Arizona Heart Hospital.

A Boy's Wish Fulfilled

In January 2017, I led the creation of a special event to fulfill the wish of Ben, an 8-year-old cancer patient who was also a very big Amazon fan. We treated Ben, his family and hospital care team to an exclusive tour, inviting local media along for the fun. During the tour, Ben and his guests encountered a few surprises, including a "pick mod" treasure hunt and surprise donation to his hospital to support pediatric oncology. In addition to leading the tour, I coordinated all event logistics, including creating this nifty treasure map fit for any pirate.

Media coverage was picked up nationally, resulting in 100+ broadcast clips.
