Campaigns
Pat's Run is the signature fundraising event benefiting the Pat Tillman Foundation. In 2017, I coordinated an end-to-end sponsorship on behalf of nearly a dozen Amazon teams in Phoenix, partnering with sites to recruit 200+ event volunteers, a race team and military recruitment employees to staff an Amazon expo booth.
In 2018, I led the same sponsorship effort, expanding the scope by securing a volunteer appearance by Amazon's Treasure Truck and organizing a philanthropic letter writing campaign inside Amazon's booth space. In just three hours, Amazon collected more than 300 letters from event goers to benefit Packages From Home, a local non-profit that sends care packages to active duty military troops.
Honoring a Legacy
2017-2018
A Night to Remember
In June 2018, I coordinated a giving event uniting multiple Amazon business lines to benefit UMOM, a Phoenix-area homeless shelter. The event kicked off with a surprise $10,000 donation, followed by a company donation of 1,000 new pairs of shoes to match 1,000 pairs of new socks collected by employees in a friendly "Battle of the Buildings" sock drive. After the donation, Amazon hosted dozens of families living in UMOM’s emergency shelter for a “Twilight Movie Night” screening of the Amazon Original Kids Series “Lost In Oz” supplied by Amazon Studios and served tasty snacks donated by the Phoenix Prime Now team. More than 20 associates from three sites volunteered to support the event.
In the early 2010s, Banner Boswell Medical Center in Sun City was just one of a few hospitals in Arizona offering Deep Brain Stimulation, an innovative procedure to lessen the debilitating effects of Parkinson's Disease.
To mark National Parkinson's Month in April, I launched a multifaceted campaign to promote the neurosurgical procedure, including a community education lecture and media placement.
Hope for Parkinson's Patients
The Arizona Republic was granted exclusive access inside a surgical suite to document Deep Brain Stimulation, a brain surgery that is partially performed while the patient is awake. The result was a compelling front-page feature story and accompanying online video that showed how one patient was "Coping with Parkinson's."

A STEM-ulating Event
June 2018
In the summer of 2018, I led coordination efforts of a Camp Amazon event at a Phoenix fulfillment center for nearly 40 middle school students from the Gila River Indian Reservation. More than
20 building leaders supported the four-hour STEM immersion experience, touring campers through the building where they participated in a simulated truck packing challenge and got an up-close view of the site's robotic arm in action. The students then partnered with members of Cesar Chavez High School’s Native American Code Writers Program to operate model robotic arms in an exciting team table challenge. Following the activities, Amazon surprised Cesar Chavez High
School with a $5,000 donation to continue funding their Computer Science program and support STEM education in the Phoenix area. The event was in partnership with Science Foundation Arizona and supported Amazon's larger narrative of inspiring children from disadvantaged backgrounds to get excited about technology and continue pursuing their interests in STEM-related fields. The Camp Amazon event garnered more than 15 social posts and media clips, including a live piece from KSAZ-TV FOX10.
Empowering People with Disabilities
October 2019
In partnership with Amazon's Public Policy and Workforce Staffing teams, I coordinated an event for community leaders and media to highlight Amazon's Alternative Workforce Supplier Program (AWSP). During the event, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey proclaimed October 2019 as Disability Employment Awareness Month and thanked Amazon and its local workforce supplier for "empowering people with disabilities."
Following formal remarks, Governor Ducey and others toured Amazon's Phoenix sort center to learn how the unique program contributes to the success of both AWSP employees and their colleagues. Media and social coverage included eight separate posts from Governor Ducey highlighting Amazon’s mission of partnering with community workforce suppliers to provide skill development, job placement and opportunities for people of all abilities.
